  1. Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 7:28am and it was in the high 20s under mostly sunny skys. In the house was everybody but Salty, Antman, Schifdawg, Toast, PARidge, Zonked, Boo and Nancy. A lot of people in the quad lineup and I began on Paradise which had decent grooming and narrow in a few spots. Next run was lazy mile and not as good and the only option is skiing the whole mile. After that was the chute which was just about to get start. Lower Main Street was rowdy with frozen cookies and holes. Razors not that good, gotta stay in your lane due to channels and what not. I didn’t get in nightmare but did a Paraweaver run and Dreamweaver was not that good but good coverage. I mainly skied the chute the rest of the time with one more paradise run. The chute was full on spring snow by like 9am left side of lower Main Street also a smoother option. Fun parking lot today with chips and beers and MBike mike made sausage sandos. I never made it to the season pass party, I’m at work now mainly to pee, smoke a bowl and count money. See most of y’all for the party tomorrow. JADIP

  4. @Johnny Law said it best when he likend skiing tonight at blue to Ponce DeLeon exploring the high seas. Every single run was navigating... around some sort of bare, brown, rock, stone you name it. Some spots required a leap or mandatory dirt. I can't recall seeing blue this thin. Still fun no doubt, but a definite sense of relief, when done, if you and or your equipment made it out unscathed. That kinda night for sure

  5. Skied with Edge, benm, lady M and Ridge....holy fuck is it getting interesting, lots of mandatories or your in the dirt. The water bar on dis has made an all snow passage impossible and everything has at least a spot of oh shit. Twice while route finding I ran out of snow. In all my years I've never seen it so thin and accordingly so technical. It was an absolute hootenany trying to ponce DeLeon your way down the hill without losing your ship to the rocks. Hyper fun, absolutely stellar night to be out. I'll run my shit straight through the shark teeth to get the goods but even by my standards I would highly advise the usage of your rock boards.

  7. My expectations for tomorrow AM super low, especially if the temperature gets into the 30s overnight.

  8. Nothing crazy, but just seems like most of the stuff I threw together this year is pork. Ribs, pulled pork, pork belly burnt ends . . . even the stuffing for the Atomic Buffalo turds

  10. Today was an awesome appetizer to tomorrow. They did an absolute spectacular job putting that crap back together enough to ski. Chute was actually pretty ok and mbike brought the sausage. Pretty sweet day for equal parts dirt and snow.

  11. I have been looking at different pass options. Indy looks great and the price is right, great option for a NE sklfari. I just don’t think I could convince anyone I know to travel around to all these different places, seeing how limited number of days are at each place.

  12. Just back from another quick session this morning. For some reason I thought it was cooler than yesterday so was quite a bit over dressed. As others have mentioned things are getting quite thin in places. Rode razors a few times, lazy and chute to lower main. Razors was real nice corn on the headwall and the bump line down skiers left after the headwall was very fun. Lazy had thin cover lollipops they don't lie. It is laughably thin through the mid-section and will be plenty rowdy in the best way this weekend (if it stays open). Chute continues to deliver the goods and lower main is holding up except for the crevasse and regular shit stains that have been there the past few days. See y'all in the morning.

  16. I would probably go for third place. Matt Edge's worldly advice and wisdom would be life changing, but Ski2Live can probably get me some 50 cent coupons for Frontier Airlines.

  18. They have cared so little about being last to close in years past, i dont get it. Or, maybe now that Peak isnt around to keep BB open, they want the cup. whatever. i think if they open monday, they have a good shot at claiming the cup. The interesting thing is the Easter egg hunt is the 24th, and we think its on Vista. Im not sure if skiing on Vista, and having some kids running around looking for eggs is a really spectacular idea, but it sure does kind of sound like something Blue might do.

  20. All gonna be pretty spicy by tomorrow, bring your best rock skis! I don't know what Blue's smoking for next week, but I wish they'd pass it along as it looks like the cold days are cloudy so higher humidity and thus much gak from the guns.

  21. Challenge closed, Lazy pretty sketchy, DW/NM open. They pushed the snow on Falls down to Homestretch. Razors is nice.

  23. Those are private ski areas. Pocono Ranchlands, The Hideout and Saw Creek both operate 1970s era double chairs on like 100ft of vertical. They're in the middle of vacation home communities. You have to own property there to use the ski area. Not even sure if these still operate currently. I haven't checked their social media in a couple years. I know Hideout and Saw Creek did some upgrades on their chairlifts a few years ago though, so those are probably still active. Sky Top runs a Poma on a couple of beginner runs with like 100ft of vert for hotel guests. They used to have a second poma or t-bar that served more terrain but it no longer operates. Eagle Rock is somehow still operating. They lost their beginner lifts and since their mountain is upside down in arrangement, they have to shuttle skiers back uphill via some weird oversized snowmobile thing as the top to bottom runs all require you to go through their advanced terrain. Given that scenario I'm surprised they're still operating at all but they apparently were open this year. Big Bear at Masthope was also formerly a private ski area, but larger than the aforementioned. It was designed by the same person who designed Pocono Ranchlands and Shawnee. It's public now and a good option if you want some place quiet and not crowded. It's a long drive from anything though. I believe people who own property in the adjacent vacation community still get some kind of perks there like discounted passes, or maybe you get a pass if you own there for a fee or something. Last time I was there lots of the folks had houses there and were from NYC. There were more private ski areas like that. Ski Cove in Hazelton next to Eagle Rock and Winona Lakes outside Stroudsburg were some examples. Tanglewood was never private and actually predates the vacation community around it. It opened as Paper Birch back in the 60s.

  24. Saw the ski patrol take the poles down once the barrier was up. Thought at the time they were bringing up some groomers to start fixing it. A week before I was up at Stowe a snowboarder wound up upside down in a similar pothole in some closed glades. Not so lucky as the one yesterday.
