  1. The sun was bright ☀️. The snow was everything from boilerplate to pure slush. And a little bit of nice chalk in between. mountain reported 21” last week but the Cirque traverse was pretty rocky. Welcome to March sunshine. Great Scott was actually decent just the drop in was sketchy. Had a little late morning show as two guys had hiked up the peak and went into a (as I heard) a rarely open line called Pipeline. Winds were calm up top which I guess I can count as a win.

  2. What a beautiful day! Sunshine and temps in the high 30’s on the mountain. Got to Snowmass about 9:15 and parking was a breeze. My neighbor is talking me into splitting the cost of a parking pass w him next season. Gets you free parking at Highlands and a lot at Snowmass with no shuttle required that I have never been to. With no pass it’s $25. Went over to Big Burn and took a warm up run on Sneaky’s snow was crunchy. Then hit the little bumps towards the bottom Then on Jeff’s advice went over to Sheer Bliss lift. And just as he said, I skied right into it and shared a chair with no one. I think I started on the Sheer Bliss trail but then merged onto a bump trail. That was a long, lot of bumps. No picture of it. But here is a pic of people waiting for the cirque lift poma The snow off Sheer Bliss was less crunchy. But toward the last 1/3 of the bump run the troughs were pretty scraped off and icy. Went to the bottom and took the Elk Camp Gondola to the top and skied one run down to the base. One thing about Snowmass is the runs are super long. I’m must have banged my watch and shut off the tracking but before I went to elk camp it was over 6000’. Top to bottom of elk is probably another 3000’ + one of these “runs” is from Snowmass mall to the lift which is about 100’. Love my commute, never any traffic heading home. Blaring the 80’a tunes This view right before the Marble turn off is really beautiful but a picture doesn’t really do it justice. My plan is to suffer a bit and uphill Tiehack tomorrow. My cardio game is sorely lacking.

  3. Ride Boulder from about 930-330 today. I was pleasantly surprised how much fun we had, I thought we would be bored and end up leaving after 2 hours. Snow was nice, easy to carve corduroy, good coverage, and they had 5 trails open on skiers right. Also some beginner stuff and park skiers left, which we didn’t check out. New lift is nice. Place was pretty much empty

  4. That’s what they’re charging. Damn. And I’m glad blue is only charging $50 for season passholders from other mountains. Ski2Live has other plans already lol. I’m stoked for razors this weekend and burma. Woo woo woo and another weekend roll call thread around Thursday.

  5. They reported like 20 inches of snow here last week but sure doesn’t seem like it up on that ridge line. I am guessing it was very windy last week blowing snow out of the top of those lines she the bright March sun the past few days nuking the rest. Once you cleared the drop in area and the exposed rocks it was fun.

  14. there are now no night tickets for any day, just 8hr, AM and mid-day for sat/sun i also agree that they should just tell people what's up.

  15. Nope, they had the guns energized. Were blinking all day Sunday. Looks like snow if you go far enough north.

  19. @DiMe Here is my official Park City 2024 trip report: Roy Rogers consumption before airplane trip. Best seat ever. So much room for activities. Grate cider at the Saloon, but $15 was ridonculous. "saltyant, take it to the Beer Thread". And finally, a perder shot. "saltyant, take it to the Perder Thread".

  20. They always are…I’m glad I haven’t had to slum it at camelback and I prob would have if they were open this weekend and blue was not.

  21. In comments they are looking at future weather to determine if they will continue operations beyond this weekend.

  22. Next positive focus is on the weather. I was pretty sure that the flashing lights I saw this morning were moving.

  25. Hell yeah! The thought of paying $65 to ski at big boulder this weekend wasn’t sitting well with me

  26. Nice report and I like chalky snow on steep pitches grippy but still fast and that’s the kind of snow I can ski a lot of vertical without getting beat up like the powder chowder push piles

  27. Maybe I am losing my mind but I am kind of digging the the chalk in the steeps here. Crew was feeling sendy this afternoon. I Jerry landed it but one of us cleared the cat track was hoping to hike up Baldy to go check out Livin the Dream but closed 😢 Shot of Jameson for Apres 😎

  28. I’d give you a ride to the shuttle lot and you can slum it and ride the shuttle with me. Basalt will be more expensive as it’s closer.

  29. @Barb I really need to get back to Aspen…I had pretty bad altitude sickness when I was out there more than a decade ago and also stayed at Johnny styles house near campground lift at snowmass and only had supper in town once. There’s like 80 restaurants I wanna eat at all of them. I might have to bite the bullet and force myself to go next season maybe stay in Carbondale since it’s lower.

  30. This guy has some pretty good POV videos from all the Aspen mountains. He just posted this one of Sheer Bliss today.

  31. Power pass dropped today. The midweek pass at Snowbowl is such a good deal this is so hard not to do. If you include purgatory, Brian head etc it goes up to $300 for 4 days. But how do I not park it in Flagstaff and ski there for fifty something a day. Way cheaper if I go out twice again next season. Weekday access to Arizona Snowbowl. Your choice of one to five weekdays to ski the entire season. Pricing 1 Day | $99 2 Day | $149 3 Day | $169 4 Day | $189 5 Day | $199 Friday Only | $125

  32. I think it’s about $600, so $300 if we split it.

  33. Nice report and how much does the parking pass cost?

  34. as much as I would enjoy an opening this weekend, I just can't see them being motivated to do it.

  35. So why not run the OG six pack then. I was also thinking if they did something like this maybe sell a spring pass…

  36. If Blue had a working winch cat they could have kept Razors alive for another week by pushing snow back up to cover the shit stain and farm the bumps and elsewhere into a WROD on the left. Imagine Blue blowing a Challenge glacier all season and just run the Comet into late April.

  37. Correct. Sometimes they drive me nuts with their snowboard binding issues. I told them get on skis but one brah told me that he's not fruity.

  38. There are a few small easily avoided thin spots. Same slow speed, but you won’t get splinters from the chairs. Might see you there tomorrow late morning. No need to get there first thing.

  39. Barb some days I don’t even feel like going to blue rather sleep in or go to work but I go just so I can write a report and always glad I went.

  40. Scenerios for this weekend at Blue..I’ll choose 3wish @saltyant or @pops was around could prob come up with 5but let’s see. 1. only open for cardboard box derby and Easter egg hunt. 2. option 1 plus skiing and riding on easy out and vista with some sort of a bonk yard rail garden on school hill. 3. option 1 plus 2 plus they go hard blowing snow for like five hours each two nights this week and piece together a top to bottom route for the weekend using one of their famous high speed quads. You want slow lifts, blue is the wrong place.

  41. I think Vails fast one preserving BB base to try and claim last to close may have put a bug up KSL's ass, who knows. They could push NMDW and run it alone from the quad possibly keep tuts and connector alive and maybe keep Burma going with a little snow making. We sha'll see, I'll post some pics from Stratton late this week.

  42. So everyone is thinking only Vista next weekend?😞. If anyone is interested, I’ll be a Boulder tomorrow, they’re open from 9-4, tickets are reasonable. I haven’t been there in years, we’ll probably be bored to tears, but gonna make the best of it.

  43. That’s what I’m saying, I feel like part of being on PASR is posting up reports with some pictures. I honestly only like taking pictures of sandwiches or selfies with drunk people at the bar but I try to include pictures on my ski trips for the culture. big boulder ugh 😩 but at least they’re providing something and looked decent in C1ers post. The top of razors yesterday may have been mad River Glen or Valdez Alaska compared to big boulder. Now the liftee I know said Blue had snow stockpiles somewhere. I don’t know Oz thinks they’re gonna blow later this week. They could hmmmm

  44. I guess their new line of business is profiting off the interest they make before issuing refunds.

  45. Nice morning at BB. Haven’t been there in 10 years. New lifts, but not much else has changed. All black slopes had decent coverage and well groomed. Big Boulder trail (where they ran the races) was nice and wide and had some nice turns on it. About 20 cars in the lot.

  46. @Barb thinking about an AZ / CO trip next year. Durango is only 5 hours from Flagstaff. Purgatory is on the same pass as Snowbowl and Telluride is 5:45. Not sure how close that is to you.

  47. Getting a huge upslope storm that is favoring the front range. Eldora go 30” overnight and has a message they are closed today due to many snow slides on the shelf access road. Winter Park got about 14”. I70 closed in both directions. We only go about 3” here but got my morning text that Snowmass canyon has chain laws in effect. That stretch always a mess in bad weather.

  48. When I go on a ski trip, first of all I’m happy to be away from work, I’m happy to be skiing many days in a row and conveniently staying pretty close to the slopes…I’m happy to eat at all kinds of different restaurants..I’m happy to be skiing big mountain terrain……if there’s powder great…but it’s never really expected…the weather changes..last year in Jh, atomic Jeff didn’t even bring his fattest skis cause it wasn’t supposed to snow much and it snowed three and a half feet in like 36 hours. Also try to get a day in at powder mountain..
