It seems like to get the benefit of the magnetraction, you have to put more pressure on the edges than my Never Summer Harpoon. I can get kinda lazy with my turns on the Harpoon and doesn't make a difference other than maybe skidding a bit
Mixilplix Posted February 25, 2025 Report Posted February 25, 2025 TBH I never noticed much difference between the two...
mgguy Posted March 19, 2025 Report Posted March 19, 2025 Just ordered a pair of Head e-Magnum Super Shapes. Pro Discount, end of season, beat the tariffs LOL. Should nicely complement the Spruce Osprey Ski Boards for fun skiing anywhere! 2

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted July 18, 2025 Report Posted July 18, 2025 I’m good on poles and gloves everything else I could use a refresh. Every season I tell myself just buy like one thing a month or every other even so it’s not November and you want five things but don’t wanna spend the money or lazy. I’m thinking about selling some stuff I don’t use anymore in Buckmans sale in October for store credit should get me new goggles at least. July 18th and worrying about having enough ski socks even though Johnny law went 27 days straight using the same pear..those were some stiff socks.

AirheadD8 Posted August 20, 2025 Report Posted August 20, 2025 (edited) It’s really going to snow this year! Haven’t bought new skis in ages. I went a little long 177’s. I started to mount the bindings before I had all the hardware so I ended up with a real menagerie of screws. Torx, posi and allen lol. I used inserts instead of regular screws. With the Kores I’ve read a few complaints people feel there’s too much ski out front so I mounted them 2cm’s forward of recommended. Stoked! Edited August 20, 2025 by AirheadD8 1
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted August 21, 2025 Report Posted August 21, 2025 I’m getting new skis but I can’t get them this early. Would be torture to look at them for 3+ months 1

JFskiDan Posted August 28, 2025 Report Posted August 28, 2025 i totally forget - do they mount for free with just a purchase of skis at Blue? or was it you had to buy both? And if i just bring both its? $75? i just realized i fat fingered the wrong set of bindings, when i should have bought 120 brake, i bought 100 brake. so i have a set of bindings with 100 brake, so, i mean, i gotta get a pair of skis to fit the 100's, right? 2 2

They take half the cost of mounting off if you buy skis from them, amd the other half off if you buy bindings from them. So buy both, free, bring either/or with you, 1/2 the listed service price, bring skis and bindings with you, pay full list price. $75 was about right for the full cost when I paid half last fall.
FrntPL8rScott Posted October 3, 2025 Report Posted October 3, 2025 Anyone using CARV sensors ? Their pre-season sale in this Sunday, October 5th - I signed up earlier this year - The marketing vidoes are interseitng, curious if they really are worth it for virtual coaching...

C1erArt Posted October 4, 2025 Report Posted October 4, 2025 (edited) Ive had Carv for about a season and a half. I like them a lot, the new exterior sensors don’t mess up your boot fit. I switch between turn by turn feedback, and then chairlift feedback when I want to listen to my tunes. Better in good conditions than crud, but give pretty consistent results. I think I score pretty good on well groomed greens, but my blues and black scores are coming up too. I do pretty good on parallel skis and turn shape metrics, still working on early edging and building pressure through out the turn. Since I ski alone most of the time, it keeps me engaged. Don’t pay as much attention to it when skiing with family.. Edited October 4, 2025 by C1erArt 1
FrntPL8rScott Posted October 4, 2025 Report Posted October 4, 2025 Thanks for the info - I'm going to purchase.... 2
RidgeRacer Posted October 4, 2025 Report Posted October 4, 2025 I've purchased nothing. Maybe pants. Or a jacket

Also, they are constantly updating their algorithms and metrics The amount of data they generate and analyze is mind boggling. if you download the app and create an account I think you get a free trial period. Should be easy to switch my sensors to your boots. They just clip on the straps. So this is an open invitation to anyone that wants to try it I’m usually at Blue at rope drop weekdays. JFskiDan Posted October 6, 2025 Report Posted October 6, 2025 So, carve is similar to the tech i built into the Dskis? The jewels light up "when you ski good" as @Johnny Law put it. 1
C1erArt Posted October 6, 2025 Report Posted October 6, 2025 Yes but do they tell you what a great ski you are? Kind of like the AI episode of South Park. Seens my offer isn’t as altruistic as I thought. Carv has a whole buddy pass reward system. 4 hours ago, JFskiDan said: So, carve is similar to the tech i built into the Dskis?
