Get on some wide skis and go fast and use a lot of power in your turns and you should be just fine getting through the mashed potatoes..in a typical warmer ski season you're gonna encounter spring conditions a lot so might as well work on your mashed potato skiing. Get forward and power through them.

This is Allentown 1/4 of the way through October. Way north of the Mason Dixon line. attachicon.gifIMG_1076.PNG

All the pools down this way are closed. I'm shocked that one is still open.

i think the only reason its open is because the mayor is going to jail soon, and it was his crown jewel or something and he wants it open before going away

Fuck this swampy shit weather in mid october. I'm dyin here. 450" at Smuggs this year. Gonna be deeeeeeep....( all I got to block out this foul weather).

I've been in Florida for the last 5 days. Talk about swampy.... looking forward to coming back to cooler temps tomorrow.

I wore sweats for the first time this season. Felt good, weather is slowly returning to normal. Near freezing temps at Smuggs last nite. :rock

I have "insider" information that fall arrives like gangbusters around the 21st-22nd.  Possibly some snow showers for Halloween.

Looks like long range temps are starting to trend back to seasonal averages. I'm doubtful Killington lands an October opening this year, but a first week of November opening could be feasible...

I don't see a forecast out there right now that has anyone opening in New England for the next 3 weeks. I bet Killington will be puckering their buttle for this years WC...

Yeah if they can't pull off the big race then the World Cup will likely switch venues.

It's definitely a situation where it is theirs until they can't host it and then they will have a reason to go elsewhere. Ultimately, I think the goal for Killington is to successfully host a couple early season events, then hope they get moved later into the season if another slot opens.
