Rolled in around 7:45ish to 33 degrees/light rain and fog on the mountain...It was interesting how the fog/mist would move around ....Sometimes you would run into weather next time it was gone...Snow was super nice/smooth......Could do pretty much do what ever you want.....Low crowds added to the fun...All lifts in operation....Moisture was starting to creep in so was gonna call it but ran into Shif and Nancy and did a bunch of runs with them...Back in the lot @enjoralas had the meats goin on under a tent...Big thanks to him for all he does...Today was a good day....6 points

With the family out in Boise visiting friends and we all went to Bogus Basin today. Half an inch of rain in town yesterday so expecting a good yield in the mountain. 16 mile access road up to BB, with half below the snow line. Slow going when you hit the snow but they did a good job clearing it. Listed 7” in the last 24 hours, 17” in the last 48 and it didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t JH blower snow but everything was open and could ski anywhere. Vis at the summit was maybe 15 feet in spots but got better as you went down the hill. Couldn’t really tell where I was with the vis so it was good to be with a local. Kids quit early as they weren’t having fun in the fog and that let the dad’s off the hook and we went for the steeper stuff. Finished with Little Nugget and Liberty. Parked in lot #4. Had its own ski in/out trail and could ski right to the car. I wouldn’t want to park anywhere else.2 points

it was so good this morning, that even Sidewinder was super duper. For day 1. That never happens.2 points

Excellent snow day yesterday! Finally hooked up with @tarponhead in the lot around 12 then went back out for some more until 2, then back out for the lot for some beers and watch a Blackhawk medevac helicopter come down the ridge from the Northwest. When it got to Blue it turned North right over the mountain, only a couple hundred feet above! Then it pulled a 180 and back over Blue to the South. ScreenRecording_12-28-2024 08-20-41_1.mov2 points

Yea I talked to him about it the other day, since its just the one spot I just heated heated up the one area for 15 minutes with Mrs snobunski’s blow dryer (sshhh 😉) if it doesnt work I’ll heat up the whole shell they are supposedly mold able shells. Too bad JD and mugsy aren’t still at blue 😒1 point

Slim had some issues with his new boots and actually put the shell in the oven to soften it up. May want to chat with him on how he did it or Gargle around for suggestions, to heat them up before putting the clamp on, or go with the heat gun/IR handheld thermometer to just heat up that one section.1 point

Hey All, I’m back from another morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720am and it was in the upper teens with a rising son and an artificial blizzard created by the snowmaking cannons. In the house was everybody from yesterday minus Falco plus Enjorales, Pops and MBike Mike. First civilian OG 6 pack to Razors which was sweet. Decent visibility and nice smooth cord, I repeated razors and still real nice but by the third run some slickness exposed. Paradise was pretty nice and empty early on as was Lazy Mile except right around the corner. Snowmaking continues on Sidewinder and the learning area. Challenge opened today and I skied one run on it..it was typical opening day conditions…slick/Rolly Polly and some small cookies and divots. Coming soon was pretty bad but not as bad as yesterday, I even got a cookie face shot… Crowds today weren’t bad at least early, but they were spilling in like crazy later in the morning. Short parking lot session and my butt is still wet just like yesterday. Looks like rain this weekend, I might not be back till Monday. JADIP1 point

My new Year's resolution is to ski one run per season with PASR all stars like you, Matt Edge, @RajeevGuptaSucheeta and Atomic Skier. That would be rad. Does it count as a run together if Atomic whizzes past me at 55 mph on the Lazy Mile?1 point

@GrilledSteezeSandwich Some hater gave me 1 star. I gave myself 5 stars so now the average is 3. What a bunch of haters.1 point

Got there around 810. On the snow by 830. Lift lines went from 0-100 in one run, around 11am. Folks were parked across the road when I left. I’m glad they’re making money, but I love mid week non holiday.1 point

Assholes. It’s comical how bad camelback is. They might not even be fourth best in PA anymore but they’re still a major resort so show them respect. Plus an Egyptian theme is neat.1 point

They diverted all the snowmaking water to the waterpark probably.1 point

Yes skied challenge once. Probably the worst conditions of the day, but not terrible. Switch was better than yesterday. Mid trail, just before the first left turn, Johnny Laws jump (aka Law’s Leap) was extra prominent.1 point

Just got back. Getting my kid up early yesterday was a Herculean feat that I wasn't going to be able to swing two days in a row. So we got there around 11. Crowds were somewhat crazy but conditions held up pretty nicely throughout...again mostly chalky with a few cookies here and there. I will say all three lifts running efficiently works wonders for crowd management. Still crazy but way less in terms of wait time if you find the right line to jump in. We rode the quad mainly but the og 6 wasn't too bad at times so we jumped on that here and there. Didn't ride the SSSix pack supreme due to long lines however. I honestly didn't think today would have been as enjoyable as it was with the crowds but on trail crowds weren't terrible, the sun was bright and the snow was good. Probably one of the funner crowded days that I can remember.1 point

The woman that is care taker for our local air strip shut it down to xc skiing last year. Too many tourists I guess. This year as long as you have her verbal permission you can ski it. I finally ran into her and got my OK. Woke up to 3” and socked in skies. Used my fat xc skis and skied from my front door to the air strip. It’s an open straight run for about 3/4 of a mile then it goes into the trees. I went way back in the trees and I know inward on someone’s land but that someone isn’t here full time. Nobody else around, breaking trail. Those skis excel at ungroomed stuff. No hills or anything but fun little jaunt.1 point

My daughter hadn’t been out yet and wanted to go this morning to shake off the rust off before we head to VT at the end of next week. Conditions were ok but we had fun. Called it quits around 11 when the crowds rolled in. To be expected but have been spoiled the past few weeks not having to deal with lines.1 point

Nothing remarkable about today. Razors was 11/10 on the first run, but the glacial ice popped up on the second run. Everything else was a little chunky. Shouldn't be complaining since it's not even Jan 1 and they're going to be 100% but conditions were better on Monday than they were today, despite the low temps.1 point

I broke my little finger running into a French tourist at the bottom of the Nile Mile High ski trail at Camelback. I won't be back unless they make improvements.0 points

I did my good deed for the year today. Some frontplaters were looking for a spot and i told them that i was leaving, and to do a loop and come back. They got the spot. It was like my small heart grew three sizes today. Never again.0 points
