Last week i rode the lift with some loud British woman with her freind, and overheard her say it was disgusting and it really made me think that it is pretty sad that we (as patrons of Blue) just assume its ok to do, and that someone else will clean it up. Thats kinda fucked up. i dont get how people are able to carry the beers full in thier pockets, but once they are empty they can no longer carry them.7 points

Another really fun day. Found some new off piste stuff which was nice then spent a lot of time on groomers and even some bumps off of lower ridge. Lower bowl into logjam was so good all day because the wind was blowing lose snow out of the woods and off the trees onto the trail so there was a skiff of new snow each run on it (first pic below...grand canyon was visible today as well...3rd pic gotta look closely much easier to see it in person). The sun finally did come out and still is in town. They're still say snow showers tonight. We'll see.5 points

Currently enjoying a coffee in the lounge by the fireplace (btw the coffee is readily available which is another reason this place is awesome...not to mention their ridiculously good breakfast. They don't just have a waffle maker but two ... Regular and one brown cinnamon sugar waffles which is so bad ass.). As for the skiing it appears there's more sun on tap for today with a high of around 35. Later this afternoon they're calling for snow showers and up to an inch in town which could mean a few inches in the mountain for tomorrow am. Tomorrow will be a short morning sesh before I need to head back to Phoenix (with perhaps a pit stop in Sedona). I plan on exploring more off the goni today to see what I can find.5 points

Even if it cost some extra cash they should clean under the lifts regularly....At least it makes it look like you care..All the cans/bottles can go to recycling...All the gloves/hats/apparel..should be donated to the homeless....4 points

Fun day today… It rained throughout the night, and the forecast didn’t call for the end of it till the afternoon… We postponed start by two hours, and still got our share of rain, sometimes mixed with snow. I applaud to those who started skiing on the hour. Conditions were really varying between just OK and worse. Fast soaked heavy spring snow, coverage ranging from great down to bare spots. Viz - at times full fog, at times flat light additionally limited by rain, at times sun. Hooray to the inventors of bubble lifts. A lot of closed trails in the area too. I can’t believe the coverage is so poor this year in Jungfrau. It’s plain depressing. Eiger run is closed, long trail toward Wengen that used to go right into town on the boardwalks and stopped by the very gondola, now ends one full train stop ahead. Absolutely no snow in Lauterbrunnen or even Wengen. Wow, just wow. Gonna try going to Mürren tomorrow and its higher Birg area…4 points

Did they clean the trail of trash under the lifts yet? Imagine paying $125 to see a disgusting litter strewn mountain. It's embarrassing.4 points

Most unexpected change of plans today. Instead of spending half a day in Bern and then proceeding to settle in Lauterbrunnen, we figured, oh why, don’t we have a full day train ticket, and wouldn’t it be a terrible waste to spend it on a trivial one way trip? Why don’t we take an impromptu detour to Zermatt while we’re here?? And so we went! Boarded 8am train to Visp along with a substantial company of other skiers and boarders traveling in about same direction, changed to Zermatt and in two hours total finally found some snow! Train arrives to Zermatt station, and then it’s an ugly electric bus or an even uglier taxi that takes you to the lift. We lucked out and found a locker available (were told to always reserve in advance should we decide to rent them again), dumped all the stuff there, grabbed skis and poles and spent the rest of the day on the slopes. Great decision! Zermatt’s high, weather was calm and sunny, snow was great throughout the day despite a late arrival, only problem was the longish chain of trains on the way to Jungfrau later at night.4 points

carry them......for an extra 3 minutes to throw it into the trash can at the top. SMH. I still dont understand why they took the big trashcan at the top on sidewinder away.3 points

With the warm weather, they probably didn't want people eating the sno cone snow.3 points

That’s a bad attitude to have, be happy you had a successful trip and you didn’t have some internet asshole saying things like ski good or eat wood.2 points

Camera's are the biggest boomer idea ever, plus anyone who spends time at blue knows they wouldn't work long. Funnel is the answer, make it a game and even when they miss at least its close.2 points

As long as they are open, I can't believe how bored I am. I have lots of shit to do too but non of it is skiing so I don't care.2 points

Reopening tomorrow with 28 runs. They had 29 runs open before, I don’t know which run they lost.2 points

every time I look at the thing it is stagnant. I'm beginning to think it is just a prop at this point.2 points

I'd bet the guy that collects cans out of the parking lot garbage would love to pick all those up under the lifts if Blue would let him. He could get himself an even better roto-tiller!2 points

I think the big cans helped, it at least kept the trash in a designated area. Both blue and hundreds of patrons are to blame for the trash. Because my work is along a busy road, there’s trash almost daily in the yard. I could just leave it and let it pile up since it wasn’t my fault but it makes us look bad. It’s usually like fast food bags and lottery scratch off tickets. The worst is when there’s used masks.2 points

The big trash can didn't really help. It was still there. It's a bigger problem that blue doesn't seem to give a shit about. I'm gonna start taking pictures of it and blasting it on Twitter and Instagram. We all should2 points

Nope and no garbage cans under the lifts. It’s embarrassing. Under the quad there’s thousands of empty cans, bottles and other trash. Blue has what, a couple hundred employees, send a few up and down the liftlines with garbage bags.2 points

Buckmans is having $28 tickets to Bear creek for 2 Wednesdays in Feb. Not sure how much that saves but I may pick one up.2 points

Spring wasnt open? what about the sno cone snowmaking thing they bought? supposed to make snow in any temp.2 points
-
Yeah, it really looks like Bear figured it wasn’t going to make it through the next couple days anyway, so might as well let ‘em ski it and make SOME money. I think each hill probably made the best decision for what they had on the ground.2 points

It was a nice spring day noon until mid afternoon at least, and very few people - parked in the first row. Soft snow is better than ice. Bummed F lift wasn't spinning but oh well. Hopefully they are able to make snow this weekend, they will almost be starting over. Bare spots got a lot worse over the course of the afternoon, the top especially is pretty patched together.2 points

Wow Suze Orman she’s a legend!!! Yup no power ATM machines don’t work. Not a bad idea to keep some cash on hand just in case even if it’s just a couple hundred dollars of walking around money.1 point

Assholes I recently I paid for a $124 purchase with 2 $100s and 4 $1s and my change was a $50 and a $20 and a $10. I’m keeping that FIAT currency alive.1 point

It’s ok I’ll do more tuts lane to connector to lower curzis widows race shicola hacienda for 4 seconds of solitude then the fun vista merge crossing to midway to the never trust a fart guys tighty whitey which is lower main to the widened shuttle to lower whatever it’s called. Now no reason to hoof it all the way to the quad..never fear Blues team of snowmaking specialists will be back in action and patch up Coming Soon or Freefall or Constantinople or Istanbul somewhere Far East JLaw talked about might be in Transylvania1 point

I told a friend JFBB would never host the Cardboard Classic ever again, and if anybody was going to do it, it would be Montage. Enough about how smart i am, this is just over the top smart on Montage's part. Have the Cardboard Classic, and then a music festival. you can do the sled race for free, but if you wanna see some live music, you will need to open up the purse strings. Allow MMR to advertise for you, and also bring a few thousand people up to the mountain that day. Well played Montage. Well played. https://www.montagemountainresorts.com/mountainfest/#tickets1 point

No snow! No snow! The only snow Bern sees these days is on the wall of a sports shop. Feels great blending in with city folks while hauling skis in the streets and wearing a ski jacket with helmet swinging in the back. Feels even greater pulling the skis up the stairs to the fifth floor because they don’t fit in the lift, not horizontally, not vertically, not diagonally. I’m thankful to the girl at reception for not asking about if I’m going to water ski in these or if I got of the train a little too early. But, well, if you forget about skis, not a bad place to hang out for a day at all…1 point
