Credit where credit is due. Took them a while but converting the Alpine slide into a ski trail is the right move. Looks fun.5 points

I hate that stupid boarder cross course, what a waste of a slope. I kinda like them leaving the whales on Sidewinder, as it breaks up a boring, flat trail. However, in the morning with flat light, it makes it difficult to see where the rollers end and then all of a sudden you're airborne!4 points

Can't wait to be using it at this time in 2 weeks out there. I'll be sure to keep it in my pocket out of sight so the bros don't get too turnt up over it. Sucks for them that I'll be spending money in their town...4 points

I emailed Jim D yesterday morning, requesting he call me. It's been well over 24 hours, so I've left him a voice mail, again requesting he call me.3 points

No season pass discount on gift cards. Using it for next years season pass is a valid use for it. Still not worth it. 10 percent off giftcards are available in any quantity on Black Friday. And no risk, because you bought them yourself. The risk of a gift card purchase from an unknown buyer is worth more than a 10 percent discount.3 points

When you've got a pass at Montage you don't have to worry about getting your runs in before the hoards descend upon the place on the weekends so you don't mind putting in a 4 hour session with the slower lifts. Not to mention you can explore a lot more and I'm sure the guys who went to Elk know what I'm talking about here, there's something to be said to know you're the only one around and it's nice and quiet.2 points

most crowded non holiday week day opening that i can remember. probably 2 dozen people waiting for opening and lines by like 9:00am. this pissed me off and i spent as much time as i could on main street lift. sorry to miss ya @mute1080 razors might have been the best conditions of any run ive ridden at blue this year. paradise, main street, and switchback were all very nice. night weaver still has that faux border cross course on it which i think is gargabe. not sure what they are doing with the small rollers and hills all over sidewinder2 points

They don't have the specter of their mountain closing looming over their heads like we do in PA. We are kind of happy to see a few buses pulling in at 11 am on a Saturday because we know it'll put a few bucks in the pocket of Barb and pay all the bills to keep our little slice of heaven going. If I was a local at Jackson Hole and knew that the mountain wasn't going anywhere regardless of how many people were there then yeah I would probably get a little annoyed with the tourists too.2 points

Salty stop stirring the pot. It's a '19-'20 season pass so technically, yes, they are throwing in rest of '18-'19 for free.2 points

Def. Cans can go more places then bottles, but it’s not as “green” as refilling glass. The term “Crowler” is actually trademarked by Oskar Blues so anytime you see that, they are getting a cut. Some breweries/distributors call it a can growler to get away from this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Yeah I think I was sweatier in hotel room. I really put my heart and soul into my dance moves..short Tasmanian devil like bursts. Especially with NMSki in the house it raises the stakes.2 points

Good: Elk Country Inn..coffee and hot chocolate on demand multiple varieties and cheapest vending machines ever...75 cents for snacks and $1 for a can of pop. Bad: Not being at the 49er..maybe one day in the future if I can get my paper straight. Ugly: chubby waitress at Mexican restaurant probably hid in kitchen the whole time due to my Me Too advances on her when I was blackout drunk in 2012..no problem my 32 ounce margarita combined with jack and stokes and shot of Jameson thrown in and singing along to Alan Jackson way down yonder in the chattahoochie and googling how not to lose voice and then losing voice from all the screaming on pow day. To be continued.2 points

It clouded up a bit around 1. Also got warmer. Yesterday was bipolar weather, beautiful blue sky, then clouds, then got pelted for awhile with some kind of sleety snow. After it stopped, you could see lots of snow squalls in the distance. Very cool. Tried to practice some of the moguls today, I pretty much sucked 😑. They did blow fresh snow in them. Nice that they are doing that a lot this year.2 points

If I got the Peak pass I would be at Hunter at least as often as JF and would take a few trips to their New England Mts instead of going put west. Montage I just stick on the Northface where there is never a line, and I am haplier spending the extra minutes on the lift than spending them in line.1 point

Agree. The new term around here is “frangers.” Front range people that invade ski areas. People in Crested Butte seem to be pissed about this since they joined Epic. I think people need to get over it to a degree. No place strays the same forever, and resorts need to make money. So since I live on the Front Range I am an asshole if I drive anywhere and want to ski.1 point

I heard Jackson hole received about $70 per day used by Ikon passholder..smaller places like Alta get much less as their day ticket price in comparable less, they have less skin in the game. But the residual money spent across skiing communities by Ikon passholders is immense. There were 250,000 Ikon passes sold..somebody is gonna need new gloves or goggles or buy a cowboy hat and some $17 pitchers of beer...if I worked at a restaurant in a ski town I’d be thrilled by an influx of patrons. Jackson hole is the largest 2500 acre resort ever..that’s four square miles of skisble terrain and I’ve been at areas that claim more acres that seem way smaller.1 point

Ridge the one guy we see out there only skis on days with 2” of new snow or more or the day after a powder day. He skis between 25-90 days a season depending on conditions. I have a lot of fun skiing Jackson hole when there’s zero inches of new snow.1 point

I wish we had their problems. They should come spend a winter in Pennsylvania...for perspective.1 point

Was just reading a thread on Teton gravity about how pissed locals are about the Ikon Pass. Especially in Jackson Hole.1 point

$600 for a full pass vs. $429 at Blue? That's like paying $50 for a Big Mac meal at McDonalds vs. $40 for the Prime Ribeye at Morton's.1 point

During Jeopardy training we made the losing team in each game choose a Bertie Botf’s bean. Nice tie in with them going to Universal Orlando. Had to have some potential negative consequences to keep them honest. Need to have some skin in the game.1 point

That’s badass. I took a dum dum from the bank earlier. I wasn’t brave enough for the mystery flavor. Had lemon lime because it reminds me of Margaritaville and Gatorade1 point

Good: Not oversleeping for my flight Bad: Boarding plane 5 hours late Ugly: My shin splints from running the 600 yard dash in the airport plus dome..had time to pee..didn’t sweat that much again until I did the running man in Jeff’s room during Apres ski.1 point

I enjoy the passholder party. Minor swag and the chance at a decent prize. Usually decent food1 point

Thanks. I don't remember much from the last time there because I just followed Jeff and Doug around. Now that I have to show Mute and Ryan around I need to have a better game plan.1 point
