I was like I'll just lay down for a second when I got home and I just woke up lol lol Today was most excellent, enjo as always was the mother fucking mvp and nobody anywhere does it better. The v2 skis are a piece of art work and a masterclass lesson in malicious compliance. Arcing those down falls is next level and those Russian dudes the make skis to hunt mink would be soooo jealous. Unbelievable day and is was a fucking privilege to share it with all of you.11 points

only thing that could have made yesterday better would have been the temps/wind. still didn't affect much tho. of course ejorales fuckin crushed it as usual. infinite thanks for the food/cooking/everything else involved with it. finally went tubbin' after 3 or 4 years of saying 'i will go tubbin' before the end of the season'. finally rode the e-scooter. finally made a run on 2x4s without skipo or the lifties noticing (at least the first run). big thanks for the whoever in the squad helped with creating the diversions. was def a day to remember10 points

Currently at PHL airport, flight leaves around 8 30. Having a roast pork sandwich and victory brotherly love ipa. Plan is Brighton tomorrow, powder mountain Wednesday and Thursday and snowbasin Friday. Flight lands at 1 am so getting up for a possible powder day and driving up should be interesting9 points

I was at Solitude today. I saw a posting that LCC was going to be closed overnight so header up here today. I think they reported 6” overnight. I guess he storm train is too much too keep up with. Half of Honeycomb was roped off. still had a fun day. At lunch it was sunny and then shortly thereafter the skies opened. heard a few booms but it wasn’t the same as Avy control During that heavy squall lightning hit at Snowbird6 points

Switching to a Blue pass. I tried Indy this year but the distance of Montage or Shawnee as local hills didn't make sense. It's a shame because it's probably the only multi pass I'd ever use.4 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 7:15am and it was 23 degrees out under mostly cloudy sky’s with strong winds. In the house was everybody but Salty, PARidge, Nancy and Schifdawg. From 7:30-9am I enjoy a couple mimosas and a Bloody Mary along with multiple helpings of JFDans famous meaty cheesy egg casserole. On the Slopes at 9am and started on Main Street which was ok..pretty consistent snow..skied that a few times then over to coming soon which was better than yesterday. Guns were blowing on a few random places and they definitely blew snow in Barney’s bumps as well. I did Main Street some more and a run on challenge which was stiff but decent and also did Barney’s bumps with Matt edge which was slick or silky depending on where you turned. Back in the lot around 1030ish and had a Yum Yum donut thanks to antman..then some sausage, roast beef, salt block steak, brisket and melted cheese on Toast(not the PASR) that would be weird. Also had a boo bear maple bacon donut on the drive home. While the weather outside was frightful, the food and fun was delightful. JADIP3 points

So far I'm at 13 days on the early bird 23/24 pass and should finish up with 18 minimum 21 at best. CRAZY good deal for anyone looking to switch to Blue The True.2 points

It is impressive to see how long they have made it considering the season we have had. Just another reason why Blue is the best ski area in all of Carbon County, regardless of what Ski2liv says.2 points

@mbike-ski and I took a chance and toured up Bearpen Mountain ... about 25 minutes from Hunter/Windham. There was some liquid precip yesterday and the temps were cold last night, so our backup plan was a tour up Windham. We arrived in the middle of nowhere and did a quick snow check. It was *ok* with a slight crust. We hoped it was better up high. About 2/3 of the way up we came across a skier coming back down the snowmobile trail and he said he dipped into the woods and it was rough so he bailed. We were that far, so to the top we went. The grade was perfect. Nothing as steep as Hunter/Windham's uphill routes. After reaching the summit and enjoying a beer, we scoped out the lines from earlier in the week to have some knowledge for a future trip. The top half was still firm, but the lower half was insanely fun spring snow. Had we waited 30-60 minutes at the summit, I think most of our run would've been like that, but we both had a huge smile on our face at the bottom. It was fun. 10/10 would do again.2 points

Behind on writing reports so here it goes. Friday 3/17 was our final day at Vail. Staying so close to the snow is such a game changer because it eliminates the need to use a car or a shuttle and just grabbing your skis/board in the lobby saves so much time too. All of those factors meant that we could sleep until well after 7 and still have time to pack up the room, check out, grab a coffee for the walk and get to the snow right around opening, there was no fresh snow so the need to be in line right at 8:30 wasn't there. We decided to start the day over on Gondola 1, so we sipped coffee on the bus across town and on the short walk across the covered bridge and arrived at the Gondola around 8:45. On the walk we ran into this guy who alerted us to the fact that Vail is taking away public grills in some spots. http://heyvailgocluckyourself.com/ The snow really wasn't great. The few inches from the day before had just set up pretty hard so it was the kind of day where I really appreciated the stellar grooming that Vail has to offer. This was the first day that I really focused on groomers and honestly it was super fun. Perfectly smooth trails, no ridges, no bumps, no cookies, just long, smooth groomers that you could really tear up. Trails that weren't groomed were just top to bottom bumps. Unfortunately, mid-morning we headed over to the Highline Express Lift on the recommendation of a bartender and wound up in a pod of diamond trails that were completely bumped. That ended up being a one and done. We went up to the top and headed to Two Elk Lodge to grab some water and check out the views that a mountain ambassador suggested to us. From there we dropped down the back side into China Bowl. @skiincy followed the cat track and I dropped down into Dragon's Teeth. The snow was hit or miss. You could get some semi fresh stuff, but you had to put up with crust to get there On the way up I saw a bunch of people in the trees under the Orient Express lift and decided to head down there. Skiincy wasn't really in the mood to risk the crusty old snow, so she headed back to the front side to lap Northstar, a perfectly groomed diamond that gave off Razor's Edge vibes for 1500 vertical feet. The trees were still holding some decent snow, but you also had to deal with tons of bumps when it opened up more. From there I went back to Blue Sky Basin solo and ran a few laps there through the trees under the Skyline Express lift as well as through the trees on Little Ollie/Heavy Metal. Headed back towards the front to meet back up with Skiincy and wound up doing a top to bottom run from the top of Teacup Express to Vail Village. I hit the lap button on my watch which showed that it was a 4-mile-long run. Headed back up Gondola 1 and met up with Skiincy and checked out the lodges at Mid Vail which were super nice, especially The 10th, a full-blown country club dining room perched 10,190 feet. The rest of the day was spent cruising groomers and enjoying the perfect sunshine and relatively warm temps. At the end of the day, we cruised down into Lionshead and headed to Bart and Yeti's for a big plate of nachos that were just OK before we walked back to the hotel, got changed, had one last cookie from the lobby and drove back to Denver. I don't usually track vert/stats but I really liked the Epic Mix App. Here is a quick snapshot of my 3 days1 point

Instructors were saying Blue was asking for people to teach lessons the first week of April but looking at the forecast, it’s seems like a stretch.1 point

Looking like Blue will remain open daily through the 26th and might open the following weekend. They did a good job covering up alot of the brown and only lost nightmare to dreamweaver…that run is challenging to keep covered it has a stream that runs under it. They plan on blowing tonight and it’s dry and cold..they might blow Monday night as well then it gets warm..high of 68 Thursday for Allentown..thursdays have been the warmest day this season it seems.1 point

Just got home from a great afternoon at Blue The True! Great seeing and hanging out with everyone before making some turns. Snow was suprisingly good, edgable everywhere despite being on the solid or sugary side!1 point

Uphill day at Buttermilk. Storm fizzled out. Was supposed to get 10-20” but got 6 and yesterday was sunny and nice instead of all day snow as predicted. I wanted to go skiing yesterday but we really had a lot of stuff to did out here in Marble as my snow shovel got hurt his back and hasn’t been here for a while. my dog could just sit outside for hours scanning for any movement in the trees to chase. or up on his tall perch Our resident fox came by for a visit. Luckily my dog was inside napping at the time. The roads were nice and dry on the drive to Aspen. Decided on the easiest lap, West Buttermilk. I didn’t have my watch last time I did it but I now have the stats; exactly 1 mile and 922’ to the ski racks at Cliff house. It was 20 but felt tropical in the strong sun, I shed a layer after 15 min and took off my gloves. 56:25 to get to the top and took a quick snack break inside. When I was going down somehow I took a wrong turn, things look a lot different going down then going up. I stopped to check out the map and realized I was on the front side and there was no way I could get back to my car. So at the base I asked the liftee if he would let me in without a scan so I wouldn’t waste one of my 3 remaining days just to get back to the parking lot. He said, “You could always skin back up”. I said I could but asked if he would take pity on me and he did. So back up and went real slow until I was sure I was on the correct trail down. Whew.1 point

I do like that they prioritize JF over BB. That's how it always should have been1 point
-
The beginner lift broke down last week at JF. So they will only be offering whatever advanced and intermediate terrain they have remaining at JF until closing. I think their last accessible beginner terrain was at BB which closed over the weekend. There hasn't been an announcement on closing yet but I can't imagine they'll push things beyond this weekend without a working beginner lift.0 points

Clouds broke somewhere about 10:00 and immediately the snow started to soften, so headed right to Barney's which started to pop. Another hour and all of Barney's was in its prime, springtime glory. Snow was soft and fast and the bumps got deep, so switched out for bump skis. Made a quick run down Coming Soon, but it was just flat and fast, so it was back to Barney's until the legs gave out. Later in the parking lot, Tele-Butch collapsed for no apparent reason… Later heard he was tested and released from ER.0 points
