  1. Skied Snowmass today. 5" overnight. Was very soft underneath after they got 20"+ a few days ago. Could point them straight down anything and you wouldn't feel any bumps. Did Gowdys like 6 times today.

  2. Did you buy them that car so that everyone in front of them will drive the speed limit or lower and absolutley not blow through red lights or stop signs? If so, that's a brilliant move and the best way to keep young drivers safe on the roads.

  4. I fully admit I am not good at doing full days. We did a 1/2 day. Forecast was a high of 10 degrees with snow and blustery winds. It was accurate. Visibility was very very bad. Our guide took us to a mellow ish spot about 30 degree descent. For some reason a 30 degree slope feels a lot more intense in the backcountry. We followed the skin track about 1/4 mile from the lodge, then our wonderful guide broke trail for the rest of it. We had about 6” of snow overnight and it was fluffy and light. our guide my friend Ilise is by a tree but is blending in. We were in the Red Mountain 3 zone and saw what that face looked like and it was def above my ability. We cut thru the trees to a run called “Hollywood”. I forgot how much it sucked to transition in true backcountry conditions. Wind, snow, freezing temps and deep powder. Nobody had been on our run today, it was all virgin snow. I am still intimidated by powder mostly because of all my stupid injuries. The guide and Ilise zoomed down and Jesus I was slow. At one point I stopped because I felt like I had vertigo from the white out conditions. Who am I kidding, I stopped several times 😂. My form was awful. The guide is going to send some pics but I almost don’t even want to see them. then we transitioned back to skins and went back thru the trees to “Bollywood”. We started to ascend but surprisingly we’re already pretty beat up. So we opted to ski down from where we were on the lower half of Bollywood. I felt a bit better in that run. To add insult to injury we had to transition yet again to skins as it was uphill back to the lodge. And 5 min before we got there the skies cleared up and it was beautiful If you zoom in to the center part in the trees you can see our skin tracks up and descent tracks from lower Bollywood. Hollywood is further up then cutting thru the trees going left (uphill). You can actually see our uphill skin track on other side of trees in Hollywood. And some descent tracks as well

  8. I am home tonight. Hung out with friends in SLC and did a little city tour. I was pretty exhausted Friday was pretty crazy at Solitude. Hitchhiked up BCC and was in lift line at 830. From like 10am to 1pm it snowed so darn heavy. Approx. 1pm word was going around that BCC road was closed because it slid and had to get cleared. Then shortly later that Alta and Bird were forced into Interlodge and LCC would be closed through evening. BCC reopened around 345pm. Probably the heaviest snowfall day I ever experienced. Had a blast at all the ski areas I visited. Definitely will be back…

  9. What a fun day! Highlight of the day was waiting at the top of the 6 pack for the rest of our crew, and a bald eagle flew slowly right above us. Couldn’t ask for a more perfect day, and Blue did a great job considering the hand Mother Nature dealt them.

  10. I was there for a very brief 8 runs. Was contemplating a few more only to come down to the quad broken down and a MASSIVE line for ME6. 2 runs earlier I rode the quad and it stopped twice for extended periods of time. Both times when it started back up it had that slipping feeling so I wasnt surprised to see it closed.

  11. We made it to the lodge finally. It is truly a lodge and not a hut. We actually didn’t even have to skin in. You park 1/4 mile from the forest road. So we loaded up our stuff at the car, carried our skis down the road. Then it’s like a 5 minute walk from the road to the lodge. There are 2 awesome lodge dogs here also. some pics our little room cubbies. 2 beds per space. can’t wait to ski tomorrow!!

  12. The old trails would have been skiers right of Nile Mile. The longest tow went about 2/3rds of the way up the mountain. The top of the Stevenson quad would be in the top right of this old photo. I don't think this is part of the state park. At least not all of it. The top of the mountain is state park land but it doesn't extend all the way to the bottom on the north side.

  13. Hopefully its not the standard cop plastic rear seat, at least some vinyl would make the experience more comfortable. Those super dark tinted windows will really make for some great privacy too. And who would mess with a cop car at inspiration point?

  17. When I pulled in in the morning, saw 2 flying around and there was also what looked like a juvenile circling around. There was also a pair of hawks circling as well. By the afternoon, the bump line on Coming Soon was a ton of fun. A big booter formed next to one of the lower guns that people were hitting. Spring snow provided a nice soft landing.

  19. Bummed that I missed closing day when it was so nice but I'm glad you all got to enjoy it. My mom had us over for brunch and as much as a love the parking lot food, I'll never turn down her homemade scones and quiche 👌 Also happy to report that in infamous Beau sends his best and is hoping to be back next season!

  22. Yeah Friday at snowbasin was pretty crazy. Not as much snow as BCC/LCC but I think they reported 15" and with the wind, it made for some pretty deep spots. With the deep snow and terrible visibility, there were people falling everywhere. Powder mountain was awesome... not the craziest terrain but the snow quality, lack of crowds, and vibe was great. Doing a guided tour was definitely a good idea...at the end of the day, we went over all the trails we did on the trail map and he recommended what to do the next day

  28. Just got home from Blue The True! Only ran into BenM on the slopes as I didnt arrived until after 1 this afternoon. Lots of parking lot shenanigans by the DJ in the corner by the 6 pack. Snow was better than expected given their weather leading up. Caught one of the last chairs up the quad to smoke a jay while making slow deliberate turns down the Nile Mile to close out Blues season. Sad it has come to an end at Blue for now. Maybe Camelwack next weekend? 🤔

  29. Today was super dope and once everything warmed up it got really good. Huge props to Ben for getting the skis signed and killing it on Razors. I despise the end of ski season, skiing as a lifestyle is my dream of dreams but we did take what was a very shitty weather season and make it tremendous fun. It was an honor and a pleasure.

  37. When I was in college, I skied mad river glen a handful of times. One time I gave a guy from the ski Vermont discussion list named Andre a ride to MRG..he insisted on stopped at Burger King for breakfast on the way and I never turn down a FF breakfast. Anyway turns out his dad is a big writer for vanity fair magazine…he now owns a bike rental company in park city and also collects and trades cars. He actually sold my high school friend a Land Cruiser…more stories later lol

  38. That's super super cool and if I'm not mistaken the old lady died last week. Apparently some dude on an early Burton board derailed the single and the rest is history. It's a super cool place to ski, paradise is legit af and it has cool quirks like mad brown outs while the trail is open.
