I was talking with my customer today about the smoke.  She’s 88 and I said you’ve been around a couple years have you ever seen something like this  and she said no.

I’ll bet she hasn’t. Scary as hell. At least today seemed improved a bit. We could see across the farmer fields near us.

dog squared up with a fawn that was sleeping two days ago. fawn unharmed. momma came running out, distracted dog and fawn was like peace out. fortunately i checked the perimeter today and avoided another scene. gotta mow i guess.

SUP’d on Beaver Lake today. We had the whole place to ourselves for about 2 hours. Then about noon the crowds showed up. Why does paddle boarding make you so sleepy? We all took cat naps when we got home.

I had a conference in St. John's Newfoundland and took some time to do some quick exploration in the area. Got in some really nice trail runs, some good hikes, good beer, etc. It was such a beautiful part of the country. Very cool place.

Just catching up put I'll have to pick your brain on that area. My grandparents went mad years ago and it's high on my list of off the beaten path type places.  Ec of Canada is seriously under traveled

i think there are some RC enthusiasts here.

went to some RC air show basically down the road from me yesterday that i had never heard of until the day before. it's their annual event (i wish they had more) but i'd highly recommend it if you manage to be in / near the area when they do next year's. the org is called west end wings and it's in brodheadsville. a shitload more fun than expected, free, amazing scenery and tons of planes -- from a wicked witch on a broom, to a stop sign plane, a superman plane and a race car shaped plane. it was bananas.

unfortunately, the pig one didn't get airborne

100%. It is not a place I ever considered traveling to but glad I got sent there for a conference. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Beautiful land and very friendly people.

Those are cool AF, a f-14 with working swept wings is boyhood dream level.

There used to be a club behind farming Ridge where I grew up and those dudes were just the coolest. Partially becuase they left porno mags laying around but mostly their toys. One dudes had a jet engine though I can't recall him ever getting it to work.

Yup, R/C planes are cool, but it really cranks when you get to see guys flying shit like this!

I owned an F-14 twin 64mm EDF for a few months..Super fun to fly...The bitch was getting it in the air....Heavy and underpowered you needed to throw it with Herculean strength to get it to glide until it came up to power..Full power the entire flight...all the time humming Danger Zone...

Need to get these back in the air...

And the NY license plates.

Nice hazy picture. Air Quality sucks again up to 164

I saw a bunch of pipe in the East end of the lot . I think they might be upgrading snowmaking. .

I only went as far as where I took the picture from. Had to drop delivery guy back at his car at the garage just east of there probably $1,000 less for the work than the big guys on 309.  Definitely my first time driving on the road out of BC…I do how the base area is a little bowl…the area I parked before the pond said you have to take a shuttle bus..how often do people have to park back there?

I do remember the lake because Nestor’s used to do kayak demos there in the 90s.

I don’t remember the larger lake in the 90’s Doe mountain “ On the right “I think it might have been added when Bear Creek took over. There’s another pond north (right) of the lodge and a smaller one by the base lot.

I have seen the lots filled up and shuttle buses running to the upper lots on weekends. I don’t make the effort to go when it’s that crowded.

Oh so was the larger lake added when Doe mountain became bear creek?  Was the entrance different as well?

My curiosity got me thinking. I found this picture from a different angle but it was there but maybe smaller.
