Trains are crazy though.

They travel all over the world on these two pieces of metal held down by brackets bolted to exposed wood that just lays in a bunch of rocks? Ok

And theyre not even bolts. Theyre nails

 

And with a solid axle they have to flange the wheels in order to go around turns...genius level simplicity to solve problems

Really not even a caboose full of carnies!?

I know one of the Allentown fair carnys. One night late at the local bar he asked me if I liked gyros and I said yeah and he whipped one out of his pocket and it was still warm. That got him a couple Jack Daniels shots.

F Amtrak. I wanted to use it to efficiently get from Harrisburg to Boston tomorrow but 1. Prices are outrageous, 2. It takes 3 hours longer to ride the train than it does to just drive.

It's too limited because we ripped up all the former lines and turned all of the right-of-ways into paths for fat ladies to ride beach cruisers.

A shame you aren't in philly. Could take Southwest Airlines for cheap.
