Pretty much everyone in the house except mixil, maybe the best snow of the year. Main was just full on attack attack, lazy and dis too. Coming Soon is on repeat, ratty but superb grip. ROTD was Widow, midway, lower good midway is a rare treat. Razors and NMDW go, a little disappointed not to see them blowing on switch, enjo said it first but that's them putting the money first. With the place packed to the rafters hard to argue they don't have the loot. Last day for a bit with the Jackson crew, may you all be blessed with nipple deep titty sparkles, champagne and the imported strippers from Driggs.11 points

Rode from 8-12, coming soon, lazy, and Main Street were all nice. While lines sucked, the left VIP line on OG sixer was never longer than 5 mins. Eating at Popeyes now10 points

Today I thought main Street was just like a strip club in Quebec, Le Tits. Could really let it rip on there today. Mostly everything else besides chute was also tits. Bon voyage to the crew heading to Jackson. Looking forward to the reports.8 points

I think what I hate most about modern skiing is they turned it so corporate, it's all a business for the most part. Most of the ogs who went out and had the vision to see a ski mtn weren't primarily interested in turning a profit and it shows. Vail decided let's see what the market will accept and bam its 200$ a person just for the ticket. The sport and culture of skiing would lose so much including its core soul if it's a rich person's only sport. I ski alot at DV and 95% of them are not skiers, they are there to be seen or to take pics for the gram and mostly truly because they see it as an status symbol of wealth. It's so lame and for 392822842 reasons the exact opposite of what it's all about.8 points

Just rolled in back home. Snow was top 10 for cold rolled Pocono powder. ROTD was the outside Coming Soon ridge, the snow was spectacular. Crap was Blue not able to pull enough personnel to gate the OG6 early, but I heard they eventually did so after lunch. We ended up using the Quad VIP to singles which was practically empty all morning, go figure? Cold conditions out in the lot for chilled beers with an eagle circling overhead with the sun as a backdrop, its tail feathers were clearly white. Have a grate Jackson trip to all those heading out West!!7 points

Skied with the grandkids at Frost. 3 yo got a little cold after 4 or 5 runs on Frosty, but the 4 yo was out for over an hour. Fries and hot chocolate as a reward.6 points

Agree. Switchback is best trail on the mountain. I’d rather they not blow snow on Challenge than not blow snow on Switchback and Sidewinder. If they had to choose.4 points

I have an urgent request. If anyone can bring six Miller lite equivalents tomorrow it'll be much appreciated. Can venmo. My wife is apparently choosing alcohol tonight and I'm pretty sure I'll have nothing left in the morning. Thanks and god bless.4 points

I'm calling a second straight year without Sidewinder at Blue. No one should give them a pass on it this year either. They should have been making snow on it and Switchback for at least the last 48 hours, or at least the last three nights if they don't want to pay the daytime electricity rates as has been reported. I guess they aren't making enough money because it's been so dead . . .3 points

It started off with much needed re building on some trails. Things were dire on paradise lower main etc. Not to worry …NMDW is happening as is challenge and maybe switch before the warm up.3 points

Hit Snowmass today. Lift lines were actually busier than Christmas week. I guess because conditions are much better. Base lift had about a 20ish minute wait. Went to where I knew and headed back to the Big Burn lift. Lines were 10-15 min but I kept taking the singles line and it was like 3 minutes. conditions were good, everyone spread out and runs felt empty. There is some fun terrain off that lift. Lots of stuff in between runs not groomed. Tried to do a bunch in there, as my instructor at Aspen said last season “practice makes permanent.” just a few shots Was nice to actually ski with some sunshine today. Last few times have been very flat light.3 points

21 skiers rescued in the killington back country. Getting lost is scary..the backside of killington is wilderness and there are no roads for several miles and once dark not easy to back track. https://www.wcax.com/2024/01/21/more-than-dozen-skiers-snowboarders-rescued-killington-backcountry/?outputType=amp2 points

I stressed my knee slightly on friday riding at BC ....Didn't think it was too bad so I took some pills yesterday am before Blue...Took a run down Lazy and couldn't hold a heelside edge without pain...Didn't want to be a liability on the hill so I called it..It killed me to use common sense and not ride today cause I knew it would be Tits McGee....2 points

I'm glad they are limiting ticket sales so it doesn't get crowded.2 points

I remember cruising through Breck's central park one time we were out there and just rolling over the giant booter landings that are fucking steep and big as shit! The people going off these have brass cojones the size of bowling balls!2 points

Enjoyed RT yesterday. Lines not bad. Pretty much all but Gunbarrel open now and they are making snow on that.2 points

Afternoon foray. Deep Creek park at Greenlane. I had thoughts of untracked runs but there were tons of parents and kids who left not 1” untouched ☹️ So I settled for a couple laps off the disc golf path , no much pitch but fun . Met a fellow named Rodney who skis at Blue a lot. He was doing some XC with a bunch of family.2 points

Last Wednesday when I went with my brah, the Camelback parking patrol were putting parking citation papers on cars of patrons who didn't pay the parking scam - on the most non-busy weekday I've seen there. I'm so glad they are nickel and diming loyal fans, the Camel needs more money for cigarettes.1 point

Gotta love how they make sure to staff to collect the fee but dont staff to direct and park custmers between the lines so this doesnt happen.1 point

I wonder if the staff were super nice and helpful by buying her kids some lunch.1 point

Report now shows River Shot open. Still no Floyd's, but of the two I prefer RS for the views - and also tends to stay better conditions all day with the two step headwall and width.1 point

I started skiing 20 years ago, and believe me, it was a lot more affordable then. You could always find a deal- Men’s day, woman’s day, buy one, get one, college discounts. It sure wasn’t anywhere near the price it is now.1 point

Snuck out yesterday after work while it was still snowing for some xc miles at Bethlehem municipal 9-hole golf course and some of the little league fields. Felt great getting in some movement on snow and xc boots don't hurt my foot anywhere near as much as downhill boots right now so that is a win. Maybe go out for an evening mile or two or possibly tomorrow while there is still some snow around. Gotta embrace it since last year wasn't feasible. There were 3 other sets of tracks out there from what looks like the last snowstorm. Nice place to just cruise around.1 point

Snowmass was really fun today! It’s a huge mountain. We mostly stayed in the big burn lift. Those runs are 2000’ of vert. And had some nice baby bumps, my favorite. However, I had been told it’s a Rocky Mountain and it is definitely true. I hit 2 rocks going in the bumps that I didn’t even see. When I got home I saw this nice shot to my skis Not even sure I can ski on them unless I get this fixed. Crap! Other then that it was a great day. Coming back to the base there was a cat walk so I had my speed up, turned a corner and it looked like someone threw handfuls of gravel on top of the snow. There was no way to avoid it. I could have gotten the ding from that as well.1 point

Some pics from xc skiing last evening Went to Aspen today. I started my tracker on the Aspen app but it told me I skied 0 today which is a bummer. I like my stats. For Christmas week the crowds were amazing. 5-10 min lift lines and mostly empty slopes. We need snow like everyone else so conditions were somewhat icy and scrapey. But then I hear @JFskiDan’s voice in my head saying “boo hoo, Colorado is icy” Natalie in the bumps There is a jr race at Aspen tomorrow think we are going to try out Snowmass, I have never been there. after being down with the flu for over a week it felt good to ski again1 point

Went to Highlands today for the first time. Wow, the snow was fantastic!! I went with my neighbor who is in his early 70’s with a nice beer belly and doesn’t look like he is athletic. This guy can fucking ski! He still does races in Vail and Beaver Creek. He has been skiing Highlands for 50 years and knows every inch of the place. He gave me a very nice tour. There was nobody there, I mean at all. He definitely pushed me for day #3 on the snow. We started on Exhibition lift and did 2 off there, then moved over to Cloud 9 lift and did a bunch off of that lift. He wanted to take me to Thunder Bowl but it was closed. last run of the day we went to the top (of the lift, obviously not the bowl) pics from the top the next ridge is Highland Bowl. I didn’t feel like I could take many pictures while we were skiing, since he is from a different generation and just doesn’t do that. He showed me picnic point and I took a pic there, really pretty view of the bells I realized why my legs were so tired (even after some midway stops) when we got to the bottom. I looked up the trail map and it’s 3600’ of vert top to bottom. Very solid day for me.1 point
