Oh that's cute ... Camelback opens this weekend.  They're practically irrelevant these days.

I've always thought it would be really fun to stay at the waterpark hotel next to the Stevenson Lift during a big snowstorm. I've contemplated it in the past but the prices for a room are outrageous.

Anyone else have a TS experience??

I was at Powder Mountain with my daughter a few years ago. We skied all morning and around noon thunder rolled in and they closed the mountain. We had lunch and waited until two when they announced that they wouldn't be reopening. Even though we had skied half the day they gave us full day vouchers good thru the following season.

Not skiing related but when I lived near Greenville, SC we had lightning and thunder with snow at night. The snow lit up from the lighting flashes which sort of looked like a strobe light effect.

12.5" for Mt. Mik. It's going to be hard to get an accurate reading because it's going to be windy and the snow will be drifting. Could be 0" at one point and 36" at another.

I think we need 3 measurements at 3 different points in the yard and take the average of the 3.

I'm thinking about how the wind will affect this....From pics I know there is an open field by his house....

There is a lot of wind up here, but there are some surprisingly sheltered areas around the house. I usually clear those spots for the dog to shit, but in the interest of this high stakes competition, I plan on utilizing them for measurements as accurate as possible.

I have three identified: Deck, basement door pad, and grass my driveway drain.

What will you be measuring with? This could have a major impact too. Walking out with a yardstick and sticking it down? Or will you go out now and do the legwork to stick something in the ground pre-storm?
