Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 (edited) How long are folks expecting Boue to be open this year? Saw someone saying on FB they already have a certain last day they will not pass in March Edited March 2 by Ski2Live Live2Ski

Party the weekend before. 1
C1erArt Posted March 2 Report Posted March 2 OTOH, they were blowing full length Curzi’s Cabin today and also at a reduced rate on Paradise and various intersections when I left at 11 (30 degrees). 1
RidgeRacer Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 (edited) Blues closed after today until Friday. Elks closed this week and reopening Fri, sat and maybe Sunday, then closed for the season. Edited March 15 by RidgeRacer
Ski2Live Live2Ski Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 (edited) Montage also closed til Thurs and Big Bear, Bear Creek, Roundtop, Spring, Liberty, Whitetail are not opening again Mon-Wed the PA options are JF and CBK. Thunderstorms and 60s tomorrow and likely rain next Saturday so we will see who actually reopens among Elk Montage and Blue. Edited March 15 by Ski2Live Live2Ski

GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 @Ski2Live Live2Ski is always a bit of a Blue hater…and sorry Rob I gave my two buddy passes to a busty chick on FB I never met. 1
RidgeRacer Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 (edited) Not to mention Blue still has a crap load of snow. 0 chance they don’t open next weekend. So for Thursday (provided the rib pain subsides) I’m looking at frost, CB, montage, Greek peak (not with what they have open and at $115) or the skillz. Edit…catamount is closed mon through thurs now 😔 so I’m looking at montage, belle or hunter basically (if I can get a ticket at a decent price). Edited March 15 by RidgeRacer 1

If you really wanted to go somewhere in MA, Butternut is only 15 or 20 minutes further than catamount and weekday tickets are 40 I think...not sure I'd day trip there though. Its a cool place with good grooming but trails are pretty mellow compared to Catamount

What I wouldn’t mind doing is maybe going to the Berkshires for a long week and skiing those places, jiminy peak also. Something to consider for next season. TBH Your montage TR has me leaning towards just going there. Especially if white lightning is open. 3

C1erArt Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 (edited) Didn’t wait until Tuesday to start the guns. I think the heaviest bands of rain passed just to the west of us yesterday. Edited March 17 by C1erArt
Benm Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 did forecast change? i didn't think they'd have such a favorable stretch of low temps (thought it'd be just last night but looks like they could potentially go most of today into tomorrow AM). 1
C1erArt Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 28° here now, supposed to get above freezing around 11 and then below freezing around seven. Even Frost is closed today but will open tomorrow.
Benm Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 pretty impressed the guns have been going (i think) this whole time even with the iffy temps midday yesterday.

Ever hear the phrase "theres something in the water"? it must be like the zinc in the water changes the molecules enough to allow Blue to make snow in the most marginal temps.
GrilledSteezeSandwich Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Blue is trying to give camelback a run for their money. Maybe they’ll be open in April. It’s mad brick this morning not a good day for wet hair lol 1

That's not actually that crazy, the most important thing for snow in terms of skiing is the formation of the nucleus. Super small dust particles are often the move but if you get something better you can do crazy numbers and %. The great salt lake was this way before they drained it..... to work for blue though i think the zinc mine would need to be in like Harrisburg though
